The biggest jerk I have ever had the displeasure of working with was an extreme slacker. This guy did everything in his power to avoid doing any actual work. He was always delegating work to others even though he should have been doing the work himself. He still attempted to take credit though! When he wasn’t able to delegate he ended up missing deadlines and making our department look bad.

He would take extended lunch breaks and leave early almost every day. He even played games on his computer when he should have been working. Our other team members had to put in extra time to make up for the slacker’s lack of productivity. He made up excuses to avoid work whenever assignments were being passed out by our supervisor.

One day we were at an office happy hour and he was bragging about his slacker ways. He said his goal in life was to work as little as possible and fly under the radar to stay employed. He joked that his workaholic colleagues would help out to make him look good. Unfortunately for him (but fortunately for the rest of us) his slacker days were numbered. He was fired within a couple weeks. He was replaced with someone who actually does work at work and our office is a much happier place to be.
